Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Revenue Cycle Specialist/Medical Collector to join our team.

The ideal Candidate must be well-versed and have working knowledge of current policies and procedures of all Managed care Contracts, Medicare, Medicare products, Medicaid, and all commercial plans.

The candidate must be well-versed in insurance verification and manual calculations of benefits.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 year of experience with eClinicalWorks. Attention to detail is desired. This position requires strong verbal and written skills.

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the revenue cycle processes, ensuring accurate billing, coding, and collections following industry standards. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and coding systems, as well as the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

  • Review and process medical claims for accuracy and completeness.
  • Utilize and be familiar with ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to ensure proper coding of diagnoses and procedures.
  • Collaborate with medical office staff to resolve billing discrepancies and issues.
  • Maintain and update medical records to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Perform medical billing tasks including charge entry, payment posting, and account reconciliation.
  • Conduct follow-ups on outstanding claims and manage the medical collection process.
  • Analyze revenue cycle data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in medical collection and billing, claims corrections, coding, or related fields within a healthcare setting.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9, ICD-10 codes, DRG classifications, and revenue cycle processes.
  • Familiarity with medical office operations and electronic health record (EHR) systems. (eClinicalsWorks strongly preferred)
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and verbal skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and patients.
  • Certification in Medical Coding or Billing is preferred but not required. Prior Experience in medical billing or a related field is required.
  • Proficiency in using billing software and systems relevant to the revenue cycle.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
