Job description

Location: 305 N. Heatherwilde Blvd Ste. 220, Pflugerville, TX 78660

Hours: 40 hrs/week, Monday-Friday 9am-5pm with some potential for 12pm-8pm (work from home), rotating Sat 8am-4pm. 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the supervision of pharmacy technicians in support of the pharmacy manager involved in the pharmacy workflow
  • Oversee data entry by pharmacy staff from providers and receiving pharmacies and insure the quality of the pharmacy technicians work
  • Ensure confidentiality of patient information and their records, and destruction of relevant documentation which contains patient information
  • Assist the pharmacy manager staff in receiving, processing and transferring patients' prescriptions, and own the success of the transfer end-to-end
  • Perform pharmacist verification of filled prescriptions in a high-volume closed-door fulfillment environment, ensuring accuracy of drug, dose, quantity and labeling prior to dispensing
  • Review and clinically verify new and refill prescriptions for therapeutic appropriateness, drug interactions, contraindications, and dosing accuracy
  • Provide proactive patient counseling and medication education via phone, addressing questions related to new prescriptions, refills, side effects, adherence, and proper mediation use
  • Collaborate with prescribers and their offices to clarify prescriptions and address clinical issues that may delay dispensing
  • Perform all tasks in a safe and compliant manner that is consistent with corporate policies as well as State and Federal laws
  • Work collaboratively with Pharmacy leadership, Pharmacy Technician staff, and corporate management teams

Requirements:

  • Graduated from an accredited College of Pharmacy
  • Active Texas Pharmacy AND  California Licenses in good standing with the Board of Pharmacy
  • 0-3 of relevant experience; experience in a mail order, specialty, or closed-door fulfillment pharmacy preferred
  • Active Pharmacy License in any or all of the the following states preferred
    • AK, AL, AR, GA, IA, ID, IL, KS, KY, LA, MD, MI, MO, MS, NE, OK, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, VA, WV
  • Willingness to obtain additional state licenses as required
  • Strong command of the English language
  • Strong attention to detail with high degree of accuracy
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn complex new software
