Position Summary

The Engineering Procurement Specialist is responsible for sourcing and establishing suppliers for new and existing components and technologies, managing purchase orders, and ensuring timely delivery. This role serves as a key interface between engineering and suppliers to ensure technical alignment, cost-effectiveness, and execution discipline.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Identify, evaluate, and source suppliers for existing and new components and technologies.
  • Support development of sourcing strategies and identification of new supplier technologies
  • Monitor supplier performance and escalate risks/issues with recommended corrective actions
  • Onboard suppliers and establish them within corporate accounting/ERP systems.
  • Support supplier negotiations for development and production components Create, issue, and manage purchase orders in alignment with engineering requirements.
  • Track and follow up on orders to ensure on-time delivery and resolve issues.
  • Facilitate meetings between engineering teams and suppliers for technical and commercial alignment.
  • Perform technical follow-up with suppliers to ensure alignment with engineering expectations
  • Build and maintain supplier relationships to support quality, delivery, and cost goals.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including engineering, finance, and operations.
  • Assist in creation of Statements of Work (SOW) and technical requirements for suppliers
Requirements and Preferred Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3-7+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or engineering support.
  • Experience working with technical components and engineering documentation.
  • Familiarity with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Strong organizational, communication, and follow-up skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong execution and attention to detail.
  • Proactive problem-solving and risk identification.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in engineering-driven environments.
  • Effective communication between technical and commercial stakeholders.

PAY & BENEFITS

    • Full-Time
    • Salary: $80,000-$90,000
    • Medical, Dental, Vision insurance and other voluntary benefit options: benefits begin on the first day of the month immediately following your date of hire
    • Eligible for 3 weeks of paid vacation + 11 holidays (9 scheduled & 2 floating) + 8 sick days. All vacation days are accrued
    • 401(k): 3% company contribution and additional 3% company match
    • Tuition Reimbursement
