About the Role
As a Material Science Engineer I at Sierra Space, you will enter the field of aerospace engineering with a foundational understanding of material sciences. This entry-level position provides an excellent opportunity to develop solutions to routine technical problems under the guidance of senior engineers. You will gain hands-on experience in applying basic technical principles, standards, theories, and concepts related to materials science, while working collaboratively within a team environment.
In this role, you will assist in the development and analysis of materials used in aerospace systems, leveraging a basic understanding of material sciences to support engineering efforts. You will help develop solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope and complexity under the supervision of senior engineers, applying technical principles, standards, theories, and concepts in material sciences. You will prepare and document technical data, reports, and presentations to support project initiatives and facilitate team decision-making. Clear communication of technical concepts and information, both verbally and in writing, will be essential as you collaborate with team members and senior engineers. Following instructions from senior engineers, you will work collaboratively within cross-functional teams to achieve project goals. Additionally, you will participate in team meetings, technical reviews, and brainstorming sessions, contributing input and gaining valuable knowledge from more experienced engineers to further your professional development.

Minimum Qualifications:

Compensation:
Pay Range:
$77,234.00 - $106,196.75
Your actual base compensation will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, experience, internal equity and market competitiveness.
