Market Research Analyst I
Hamamatsu Photonics is a global leader in advanced light detectors, sources, and systems for industrial, scientific, and commercial applications. Our mission is to improve society through photonics technology.
Role Overview:
The Market Research Analyst I is responsible for interpreting data, preparing reports, and developing recommendations based on market research findings for target markets and products. This role supports marketing objectives by increasing visibility with our parent company and helping identify new business opportunities.
Location:
This is a hybrid position based out of our Bridgewater, NJ office.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Gather market intelligence on assigned markets, including market size, competitors, trends, and profitability. Conduct independent data collection using quantitative and qualitative research methods, which may include internet research, internal databases, in-person conversations, email or phone outreach, and observation at trade shows and conferences. Report findings to supervisors and stakeholders, gather feedback, and recommend next steps.
  • Support sales and marketing development projects by conducting primary and secondary market research. Collaborate with stakeholders, including Marketing Engineers, Business Development Managers, Applications Engineers, and Sales Engineers, to identify and collect information required for project success. Gather feedback and recommend next steps.
  • Create customer-facing and internal content with support from engineers, including booth graphics, advertisements, brochures, and related marketing materials.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Analytics, or a related discipline.
  • Ability to travel nationwide up to 25%.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with multiple internet research tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Project management skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint.
  • Experience with CRM systems.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Two years of market research experience.

Pay Range
The target base salary for this role at the commencement of employment is expected to be between $58,000 - $73,000 annually. Final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience level, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
