York Plaza Apartments is seeking a professional Full-time Maintenance Tech 2 to join their team in Edina, MN. The Maintenance Technician II is an entry-level maintenance role responsible for assisting with routine property maintenance, repairs, and preventive maintenance tasks under close supervision. This role supports the Maintenance Technician I and Maintenance Lead by performing basic maintenance duties, assisting with apartment turns, and learning property systems, tools, and procedures. The Maintenance Technician II is expected to develop technical skills over time and grow into a more independent maintenance role.
Working Hours:
Typically, FT40, Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. Property office hours may vary from property to property. You may be asked to flex your schedule to meet the demands of the business.

Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Support & Repairs
  • Assist with routine maintenance and repairs, including basic plumbing, electrical, appliances, lighting, locks, carpentry, and general building systems
  • Respond to maintenance requests under the direction of senior maintenance staff
  • Assist with apartment turns, cleaning, repairs, and preparation for move-ins
  • Perform basic preventive maintenance tasks according to established schedules
  • Assist with exterior maintenance including parking areas, garages, and common outdoor spaces
  • Support grounds work such as trash pickup, snow removal, and exterior cleanliness

Learning & Skill Development
  • Learn maintenance procedures, property systems, and safety requirements
  • Observe and assist senior technicians with more complex repairs
  • Participate in required maintenance training and development opportunities
  • Follow written and verbal instructions accurately

Safety, Compliance & Support
  • Follow company safety policies and procedures at all times
  • Assist with inspections and compliance activities as directed
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition
  • Report hazards, repair needs, or unusual conditions promptly

Administrative & Team Support
  • Complete assigned logs and paperwork with guidance
  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident and company information
  • Provide courteous customer service to residents and team members
  • Remain flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
