Senior Analyst, Research - Austin & San Antonio

The Senior Research Analyst will join the research team in Austin to continue to elevate a best-in-class research program that differentiates JLL.

The Senior Research Analyst focus on trend analysis, market presentation, strategic business development support and research content creation. The role will have primary responsibility for maintaining and constantly improving the quality of Austin and San Antonio market data and working with the Research team to present data in a compelling way. You will assist in tracking and analyzing all aspects of the local commercial real estate market, economic drivers and demographics and will leverage that knowledge proactively for research products, client projects and business development efforts.

The Senior Research Analyst will work closely with external research colleagues, brokerage professionals and clients in the local market, as well as with research colleagues throughout the nation within JLL's Americas Research group. Successful candidates are passionate about what drives their city, economy and commercial real estate.

What this job involves:

  • Closely monitor the Austin and San Antonio real estate markets, including data related to properties, leases, tenants, availabilities, developments, sales and owners
  • Become an expert on the local economy, job and industry makeup, demographics and local market company growth to tell a compelling story about the markets
  • Contribute to the production of all local research reports providing a unique house view on market drivers and influences
  • Communicate data excellence and insights via traditional reporting products and the use of advanced data visualization tools, including JLL's new and proprietary technology
  • Actively contribute to JLL's internal data management system and adopt or discover new creative uses for its content and visualization tools
  • Contribute to client presentations by covering market intelligence, trends and statistics
  • Develop strong relationships with internal and external clients and position research as a differentiator including being client facing and externally focused on new business efforts
  • Keep track and inform brokerage leaders of local and national commercial real estate news
  • Create compelling visualizations and provide meaningful insights on local market data, trends and drivers
  • Develop and share best practice standards

Desired skills and experience for this job:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, economics, consulting, real estate, economic development, urban planning or related field preferred
  • Two to four years in commercial real estate research or closely related field
  • Passion for real estate with a strong commitment to learning micro- and macro-level market dynamics
  • Strong organization and analytical skills, problem-solving ability and written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, be resilient and can effectively manage time and workload
  • Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, Word and database systems
  • Collaborative attitude and willingness to both work independently and as part of a dynamic team
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • A desire to work within a diverse, collaborative, and driven professional environment
