Job description

Jackson Grinding Company, a division of Production Saw and Machine, was founded in 1968, and is a privately held business proudly serving customers from its central location in Jackson, Michigan, along the I-94 Chicago–Detroit corridor. We are a trusted source for precision grinding services and close-tolerance manufacturing, specializing in high-volume Centerless and Double Disk grinding. While grinding is our core expertise, we also support customers by coordinating subcontracted operations, including heat treating, hard-coat anodizing, black oxide, pickling, and screw machine products, to help ensure a complete, high-quality solution from start to finish.

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for setting up and operating Twin Grip machines to produce quality parts according to specifications. Ensures machine uptime, part accuracy, and safe work practices while assisting in training entry-level employees.

The ideal candidate will:

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Meet the expectations and requirements of data entry, production, safety, and quality standards

You'll support JGC's success through:

  • Loading with raw stock, monitoring tool life, changing tooling, making offsets, and packaging products.
  • Ensuring quality standards with regular quality checks.
  • Meeting or exceeding efficiency and production rate requirements.
  • Maintaining the mechanical integrity of the machine through maintenance and housekeeping tasks.Collecting and documenting data.
