Job Description Summary

Employee responsible for various tasks and duties assigned by the supervisor. These duties may involve a broad range of responsibilities.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ability to lift 50lbs, 100 lbs. with team or assisted lift.
  • Requires physical labor such as shoveling, lifting, cleaning yard and plant work area.
  • Operate Forklift and Loading Machine.
  • Perform daily pre-start up procedures, i.e. note the service due date, check fluid levels and make sure the equipment to be used is in good running order, complete Daily Equipment Checklist.
  • The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and fill out routine paperwork.
  • Keep equipment clean.  Wiping down equipment not only promotes a positive public image, but enables the operator to inspect the equipment at close range.
  • Provide customer service on an internal and external basis.
  • Load and unload incoming and outgoing trucks.
  • Stock inventory.
  • Follows policies and procedures to ensure the job is done properly.
  • Attendance required according to company attendance policy to ensure crew is able to operate at normal efficiency level.
  • Attitude/Cooperation: Must always maintain a courteous and professional manner with co-workers, customers, public.
  • Craftsmanship and ability to follow OSHA/MSHA safety standards.
  • Ability to be flexible with last minute schedule changes, location changes, time of shift changes.
  • Ability to transport material with attention to detail and emphasis on safety.
  • Initiative to perform/assist with other positions for job completion.
  • Ability to adhere to personal protective equipment (PPE) policy and maintain individual PPE in functional condition.
  • This is an entry-level position. Candidates may be crossed-trained to perform other duties in the plant as deemed necessary.
  • Must pass drug test, criminal background check, and Functional Capacity Exam.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand for duration of shift, typical shift is 8-12 hours.
  • Physical ability to operate equipment and to transport material. Position may require employee to unload truck by hand. 

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
