This role exists to assist experienced electricians in the installation, maintenance, repair or preventive maintenance to a wide variety of electrical systems and equipment to support all Dollywood Company properties in accordance with regulatory codes at the country, state and federal levels. All of this will be done in a manner consistent with the mission, values and operating philosophies and standards of the Dollywood Company.
Additionally, the ideal candidate will be able to display and live out Lead with Love qualities, strongly rooted in the Dollywood Company culture, by being patient, kind, trusting, unselfish, truthful, forgiving, dedicated and accountable.
Summary of Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Perform semi-skilled and unskilled laboring duties related to the installation, maintenance and repair of a wide variety of electrical systems and equipment
  • Assist with troubleshooting electrical components, wiring diagrams, transformers, motors, panels, and circuits
  • Trace out short circuits in wiring, using test meter
  • Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit, using measuring instruments and hand tools
  • Examine electrical units for loose connections and broken insulation and tighten connections, using hand tools
  • Maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment and keep parts and supplies in order
  • Prepare materials, clean work areas, and track supplies and inventory
  • Transport tools, materials, equipment, and supplies to work site
  • Assist with conducting scheduled maintenance and regulatory inspections
  • Perform general manual labor tasks including loading, unloading, lifting, and transporting materials
  • Maintain records of work completed and parts used
  • Perform duties in a safe manner in compliance with manufacturer's specifications, company policies & procedures, applicable regulations, and industry standards
  • Assist others as requested
  • Effectively communicate with others
  • Must work independently as well as in a team setting

Education and Experience Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • 1-2 years of experience working with hand tools, power tool and electronic test equipment
  • Valid driver's license and proof of auto liability insurance for use of Company vehicles
  • Basic computer skills
  • Must pass pre-employment drug test and background check; if already employed by Dollywood must also be in good standing with current team

Physical Requirements | Environmental Conditions
  • Lifting and Carrying: Position may require occasional to frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs utilizing company's safety guidelines for safe lifting
  • Mobility: Position may require intermittent to prolonged sitting, standing and/or walking for duration of shift, up to 13 hours
  • Repetitive Movements: This position may require performing repetitive movements and tasks throughout the shift, including repeated use of hands, arms or other body parts as part of typical job functions
  • Environmental Conditions: This position requires the ability to perform work tasks in varying weather conditions to include extreme cold and heat
  • Cognitive and Sensory Requirements: This position requires strong cognitive skills, including the ability to think critically, solve problems, process and retain information, have attention to detail and communicate effectively using approved communication methods.
  • Able to endure temperatures of0 to 120 degrees
  • Able to dig trenches, either by use of hand tools or power equipment
  • Able to work from all types of ladders (step ladders up to 14', A-frame ladders and all sizes of extension ladders and carry and relocate up to 12' step ladder by one's self)
  • Able to perform work at various heights (up to 90') from ladders, scaffold, aerial lifts, cat walks or other areas
  • Able to work in confined space such as switchgear room, manholes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces, attics
  • Able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach over head
  • Able to use hand tools, power tools and equipment such as air compressor, skill saw, electric drill, impact wrench, hand wrenches, shovel, ladders, etc.
