Seeking an IT Systems Technician II
 
The IT Systems Technician II, ensures reliable workstation performance and operational continuity by prioritizing and resolving technical issues within established service levels. They would manage workstation hardware needs through regular evaluation and recommendations, maintain accurate asset inventories with timely updates and cycle counts, and uphold consistent workstation availability through proactive inventory control and ordering practices. In addition, will operate with limited supervision.
 
Job Duties
 
  • Resolve workstation and endpoint failures, repairing or replacing components as needed.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, OS, Linux, and endpoint issues across physical and virtual environments.
  • Develop and maintain workstation and mobile solutions using Microsoft Office 365.
  • Configure, image, and deploy workstation systems following approved baselines and security standards.
  • Plan and execute OS and software installations, upgrades, and patching to ensure reliability and compliance.
  • Administer Linux/Windows systems, including configuration, patching, access control, performance tuning, and backup/DR readiness.
  • Manage endpoint lifecycle, including imaging, baselining, packaging, patching, and VDI support.
  • Administer accounts, printers, directories, and file systems to maintain system integrity.
  • Provide and manage access to applications, shared resources, and directories.
  • Monitor service delivery reports and initiate corrective or preventive actions.
  • Maintain accurate assettracking information for all repairs, deployments, and lifecycle activities.
  • Recover and redeploy underutilized or unused equipment to optimize hardware usage.
  • Create and maintain documentation, including system designs, procedures, runbooks, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Implement containerization and modern release practices where applicable to workstation and endpoint components.
  • Operate within change, incident, and problem management processes while enforcing security and compliance.
  • Monitor workstation and endpoint performance and recommend improvements or highavailability patterns.
  • Evaluate new and emerging technologies and vendors and provide recommendations.
  • Provide technical support to developers, DBAs, and application teams on endpointrelated dependencies.
  • Mentor and train support personnel and team members to strengthen team capability.

Position Requirements

Requires an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant IT field or equivalent related experience, along with 2–4 years of systems administration or endpoint engineering work, including at least two years in infrastructure or network design, build, or migration. Should hold A+ or Dell hardware certifications and have experience in at least three areas: collaboration tools (Microsoft 365, WebEx), mobility technologies (Intune, zScaler), identity/SSO, core workplace services (Windows 10/11, AD, DNS, DHCP, SharePoint, SCCM/Adaptiva), virtualization (VMware, Citrix). Strong hardware, OS, and networking knowledge is needed, along with automation skills in PowerShell, Python, or Bash, a solid understanding of current IT trends, and strong analytical and problemsolving abilities to resolve complex issues. May be required to have Clean Room Certification. Must be willing to work on call rotations and perform off hours support / maintenance on an as needed basis.
