Raytheon currently has an exciting systems administrator position available that supports the Raytheon mission of making the world a safer place. We are seeking an experienced Windows System Administrator that will be working in a highly collaborative, multi-platform and multi–disciplined environment. The System Administrator must possess a secret security clearance as they will be responsible for administering systems that contain classified data.

The candidate is responsible for provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software related to a Linux infrastructure for classified programs. Duties include, but are not limited to, server management (software and hardware); storage management (logical and physical); cross platform authentication and access management; data backup and restoration; software and license configuration; and workstation support.

What You Will Do:

  • Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and RedHat Enterprise Linux environment. 

  • Experience with Windows Server internals or Linux fundamentals to include DNS, DHCP, AD, and server replication methods.  

  • Working as a team member in a fast-paced technological environment.  Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of a moderate to high scope and complexity to include the integration of hardware and operating systems (OS). 

  • Understanding of data RAID, data backup uses and technologies. Install and configure software applications requested by end users. 

  • Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements.  

  • Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within 6 months of start date. 

  • Systems are operational 24x7 and occasionally require work effort beyond standard work hours. 

  • Travel required as business needs dictate to other US Domestic locations, up to 10% per year. 

  • Full time 100% Onsite position. 

What You Will Learn

  • Experience Deploying Windows workstations and migrating end-user data.

  • Experience with cloning techniques.

  • Experience with operating system concepts and implementations

  • Microsoft Windows Active Directory Services administration and support (e.g. user and computer objects administration, Group Policy).

  • Experience with network services as related to Microsoft Windows environment (e.g. DC, DNS, DHCP, etc.).

  • Experience with supporting desktop / workstation hardware.

  • Experience with an IT incident/service request system.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field.

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • Windows and/or Linux systems administration experience.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Active Top Secret security clearance.

  • Bitlocker support.

  • Windows command line and related utilities.

  • Network and infrastructure services such as domain controllers, global catalogs, DNS, and DHCP.

  • Infrastructure backup, restore, disaster recovery and business continuity.

  • Cloud computing (AWS, Azure).

  • Experience with the following Microsoft technologies: MDT/WSUS/MECM; Windows desktops (Windows 10 & 11), Horizon.

  • Support experience with engineering applications such as MatLab, Green Hills products, Doors, and Subversion.

  • CompTIA Security+ certification or other industry-recognized certifications relevant to a Windows System Administrator.

  • Infrastructure backup, res.tore, disaster recovery and business continuity.

  • Network and infrastructure services such as domain controllers, global catalogs, DNS, and DHCP.

  • ITIL Foundations and/or ITIL Service Operations.

The salary range for this role is 75,800 USD - 144,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
