Job description

Position Overview

Senior System Administrator โ€“ Tucson, AZ. Must have an active Secret clearance. Part of Raytheon Technologies Digital Technology (DT) organization, supporting classified security systems and critical defense missions. The role includes weekend shifts (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) with 12โ€hour rotations and shift differentials.

Responsibilities

Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Redhat Enterprise Linux environment. Maintain Windows Server and Linux fundamentals, including DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, and server replication. Diagnose and resolve technical problems of moderate to high complexity, integrating hardware and operating systems. Understand and implement RAID, backup, and recovery strategies. Install and configure software applications for end users. Collaborate with cybersecurity professionals to uphold security requirements.

Document and train on advanced IT processes and procedures. Ensure 24/7 system availability; work beyond standard hours when needed. Travel domestically (up to 10% annual) to support business needs. Operate in a dynamic manufacturing environment requiring high quality execution. Schedule 9โ€shift weekend schedule (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) with 12โ€hour shifts. Shift differential of 8% for morning shift (6:00amโ€“6:30pm) and an additional 4 hours straight time within the week.

Qualifications โ€“ Must Have University degree or equivalent experience; minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. Experience with Linux or Windows operating systems. Handsโ€on experience with Active Directory, VMware, backup and recovery.

Preferred Qualifications

DoDDโ€8140 /8570 certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE, Operating System Certification). Knowledge of NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS, and/or DoD/RMF. Experience with data storage, NAS, and SAN technologies. Familiarity with IT project lifecycle management processes. Proficiency with VMware vCenter, vSphere, ESX, and other virtual computing methods. Support for engineers developing software, simulations, and hardware. Experience with Microsoft WSUS, MECM, and/or Exchange. Scripting experience.

Compensation
