The State of New Hampshire, Judicial Branch, 9th Circuit Court, has a Full-Time vacancy for Court Operations Specialist.
Summary: The Court Operations Specialist performs a variety of administrative, clerical, and customer service duties that support the efficient operation of the New Hampshire Judicial Branch. This entry-level position requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work with confidential information while assisting court users, attorneys, judges, and court staff. Employees learn court procedures, case processing requirements, and applicable court rules while working under the supervision of the Clerk of Court or designee.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience:
  • Graduation from high school or equivalent
  • One-Two (1-2) years of administrative, clerical, customer service, or office experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with case management systems and standard office software
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:
The preferred candidate is organized, dependable, customer-service oriented, and interested in supporting the administration of justice. This position provides an excellent opportunity to gain experience in the court system and develop a career within the New Hampshire Judicial Branch.
Work Environment:
  • Office setting within a courthouse environment
  • Frequent interaction with the public and justice system partners
  • May require occasional travel between court locations

Other Requirements:
Successful completion of a background check, including a criminal records check.
Responsibilities:
  • Serves as a public-facing representative providing guidance to court users while ensuring the efficient processing of court records, filings, and administrative functions
  • Assign docket numbers and enter case information into court management systems
  • Maintain and organize court files using established filing procedures
  • Prepare notices, orders, correspondence, hearing schedules, and other court-related documents
  • Answer telephone calls and assist members of the public, attorneys, and court personnel
  • Prepare summonses, subpoenas, warrants, and other legal documents in accordance with court procedures
  • Operate recording equipment during court proceedings when assigned
  • Collect, record, and reconcile court fees and other financial transactions
  • Maintain confidentiality of court records and sensitive information
  • Perform related clerical and administrative duties assigned
  • Processing incoming and outgoing court documents for completeness and accuracy
