ABOUT PRECISION DIAGNOSTICS:
Precision Diagnostics, based in San Diego, California is a fast-growing clinical laboratory that specializes in providing drug testing, primarily for the purpose of helping physicians monitor their patients undergoing treatment for pain or substance abuse. Precision's objective is to improve patient adherence/compliance with their prescription regimen and protect medical practices from liability.
THE ROLE:
The Aliquoter is an entry level position in our laboratory and provides the individual with firsthand experience working in a state-of-the art laboratory. The Aliquoter plays an important role in our testing process, ensuring to extract the precise amount needed from each sample. This role comes with tremendous opportunity for growth.
OUTCOMES:
  • Preparing aliquots of oral fluid and urine specimens prior to testing.
  • Identify and categorize special handling specimens.
  • Proper set up of workstation to minimize contamination.
  • Follow all PPE requirements and safety regulations.
  • Proper disposal of bio-hazardous material.
  • Additional laboratory tasks including specimen inventory, trouble shooting, and workstation decontamination.
  • Identify specimen discrepancies.
  • Follow company policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Scanning and organizing paperwork.
  • Assisting with other duties as delegated.

  • High School diploma or equivalent from US institution or if from foreign institution must be evaluated by a NACES organization member
  • College degree or in-progress coursework in an applicable natural science preferred.

  • Become fluent in Microsoft 365 (formerly Office635) applications assigned to your role. Common applications include: Teams, Word, Excel, Tasks and Planner
  • Complete training in a timely manner that is assigned to you. Training is primarily conducted via Microsoft Learn modules and is assigned based on:
    • Position/Job Role - Most positions require a core set of Microsoft 365 working knowledge
    • Project Role - As member of a project team, you may be required to complete training before you can engage with the project team or commence project work
    • Ad-Hoc - Based on review of your performance via support requests, training modules will be assigned to increase skills

ADDITIONAL JOB CONSIDERATIONS:
  • Part-time Tuesday-Saturday. Up to 29 hours per week with scheduling based on specimen volume.
  • Salary is $18.00 per hour
  • This role operates in laboratory environment.
  • This role routinely uses laboratory equipment and requires the use of PPE.
  • Must be able to meet physical demands of the position, including:
    • Stand for long periods of time. Estimate 90% of time is spent standing and 10% spent sitting.
    • Have frequent need to perform the following physical activities: bend/stoop/squat and reach above shoulders.
    • Have frequent need to perform standing and walking activities.
  • No travel is expected for this position.
  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
