Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Laboratory Manager is responsible for planning, implementing, administering, and monitoring laboratory services by supervising the department to achieve quality patient care. In addition to leadership and administrative responsibilities, this role maintains clinical competency and provides direct bench coverage and on-call support as needed to ensure continuous, high-quality laboratory services.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages day-to-day operations of the laboratory and RHC laboratory department.
  • Participates in the stratebic planning for the organization in relation to building and maintaining programs.
  • Recruits and develops a qualified and productive workforce.
  • Maintains employee relations by promoting a positive work environment, influencing retention, and enhancing communication.
  • Manages departmental financial operations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Hours: Minimum 40 hours/week, 8:00am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday


Education, Experience:

  • Graduate of Bachelor of Science from approved Medical Technology or Medical Laboratory Scientist Program.
  • Registered Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist by the Board of Registry of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or equivalent certification or reconginized national or state agency.
  • Minimum of 4 years general laboratory experience.

Certificates, Licensure, Registrations:

  • ASCP Certification or equivalent
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
