Cirona Labs manufactures water-soluble cannabinoid ingredients, for application in beverages, tinctures, topicals, and edibles.
Our team has over 100 years experience developing products for major CPG and cannabis companies. Our cGMP-certified lab is based in upstate New York on Cornell University’s Technology Farm.

The Opportunity

Cirona Labs is hiring an entry-level Extraction Assistant to help keep our Extraction Department running safely, cleanly, and on-spec. This role exists to support technicians by preparing materials, maintaining compliance, and building the foundational skills needed for a career in regulated manufacturing.
Key responsibilities:
- Prepare and pack biomass for ethanol and hydrocarbon extraction; verify weights, labels, and SOP steps
- Stage materials, support load-in/load-out, and assist with production tasks under supervision
- Clean extraction bags, glassware, tools, and work areas to sanitation standards
- Weigh biomass/solvents/materials on precision scales and help with inventory tracking
- Handle waste, storage, and labeling requirements; report spills or equipment concerns promptly
- Follow all safety rules, including PPE and solvent-handling requirements
Required qualifications/skills:
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet in a fast-paced, regulated environment
- Detail-oriented, able to follow written procedures, and comfortable with basic lab tools

Your Shift Flow

You’ll work onsite in Rochester, NY on one of two full-time shifts (7:00am–3:30pm or 2:00pm–10:30pm). After gearing up with required PPE, you’ll review the day’s priorities with the team, then rotate between prep areas and the extraction workspace. Expect a steady rhythm of weighing and labeling, quick check-ins with technicians, and frequent resets to keep the room inspection-ready. You’ll log what’s done, flag anything out of spec, and hand off clear notes at shift change so the next crew can pick up smoothly. Pay is $19–$21/hr.
