GU Tech Lab Specialist - Structures in  GAC Savannah


Unique Skills:

Positions are specific to the Structures training program.  Ideal candidates will be highly experienced in areas involving fabrication and assembly of Sheetmetal related structural components


 

Education and Experience Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required. equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. required. 6 years Maintenance experience in aviation field performing repairs to airframe or powerplant systems. Relative Gulfstream experience preferred.. preferred. 1 year Experience in training related area. A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license preferred. Position Purpose: As a technical specialist, deliver training as determined by facility objectives, goals and strategies. Position will require delivery of both lab and floor level OJT. Delivery of classroom lecture-based training/instruction. Assists Senior specialists in maintaining LAB training aids and aircraft monuments used to deliver training in a safe and controlled work environment. Represent Gulfstream University as a subject matter expert in development of additional training as it relates to your technical work experience on aircraft.
Job Description
Principle Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Functions:
  1. Interface with departments to assure that training department is knowledgeable of product changes or modifications and incorporates them into new or existing training programs. Acts as internal consultant to GAC clients on training issues, work process issues, and development issues in coordination with HRBP. Visits departments on a periodic basis to promote understanding, cooperation, and ensure training requirements are being met .
  2. Conduct classroom and practical training to support Manufacturing and Repair Stations in the build, maintenance, and repair of Gulfstream aircraft. To include structures, avionics, composites, torque, Click Bond, Permaswage, regulatory and safety training required. for compliance with FAA, EASA, CAAC, OSHA, EPA, etc. as well as computer software training as requested at all GAC facilities .
  3. Ensure all necessary training materials (course outlines, lesson plans, books, handouts, presentations, CBTs) meet training objectives while maintaining established departmental, company, and training provider standards .
  4. Identify, research, and verify technical accuracy of information required. for training course development. Monitor all applicable information sources to determine required. changes to current training programs .
  5. Interface with other members of the department to ensure comprehensive and timely responses to training issues. Coordinates training functions with manager of training .
Perform other duties as assigned. Other Requirements:
  1. Must be able to read and interpret maintenance manuals, IPCs, ASCs, CBs, CMP cards, engineering orders and blueprints.
  2. Must be able to troubleshoot systems during tests and perform systems and operational checks.
  3. Must be available to conduct training on any shift and travel to all locations.
  4. Must possess facilitation and presentation capabilities.
  5. Must obtain a training Qualifier status.
  6. Good organizational skills and strong verbal/written communications skills required.
This job requires one to be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
