PART-TIME KENNEL ATTENDANT

Red Bluff Animal Hospital is looking for an entry-level Kennel Assistant who is a team player and able to learn quickly. Must have a willingness to learn, be detail oriented, and have a strong work ethic. At Red Bluff Animal Hospital, our goal and policy is to treat our clients as we would want to be treated. Our clients are the heart of our practice and the reason we are here. Our clients and patients are always treated with respect, dignity and compassion. Being of service to our patients is the definition of our purpose and the mission of our practice.
Ideal position for an entry-level candidate or a student who can work 3:30-6:00 p.m. weekdays and Saturday mornings.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assists veterinary technicians, doctors, and receptionists as needed.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness of the hospital, as well as patient wards, cages, and runs.
  • Clean, sterilize, and maintain kennels, operating rooms, exam rooms, cages, and surgical equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness by performing tasks such as sweeping/mopping floors, wiping counters, taking out the trash, cleaning bathrooms, doing laundry, and washing employee dishes.
  • Wash and sanitize pet dishes
  • Check walls, doors and counters and clean as needed to remove hair, body fluids, and dirt.
  • Dispose of used needles and syringes and other sharp objects as set forth by the practice policy and OSHA standards.
  • Assist other staff members with tasks.
  • Stock hospital supplies.
  • Move boxes, equipment or furniture as needed.
  • Complete daily, weekly, monthly cleaning lists as assigned.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Must be at least 16 years old.
  • Must be punctual and dependable. Tardiness and absenteeism is not tolerated.
  • Effectively communicate in English both in writing and orally.
  • Carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
  • Stand for extended periods of time.
  • Walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch frequently, and lift or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Maintain confidence and composure around pets.

Kennel attendant is an entry level position. Experience is not required.
