What We're Looking For

The Creative Communications Specialist is an entry-level, multi-disciplinary role supporting digital communications, content creation and graphic design initiatives. This position blends creative design, writing, and digital media skills to produce engaging content across social, web, email and print channels. The ideal candidate is a junior graphic designer with a broad background in digital media, social platforms, photography and writing, along with foundational proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (especially Illustrator and InDesign).
This role collaborates closely with internal teams to create, distribute, and optimize content that supports public involvement and communications messaging, brand consistency, and engagement goals.

What You'll Do:

  • Assists with the development of content in line with the public engagement and communications strategy.
  • Works with internal teams on the creation and execution of content to support key messaging.
  • Collaborates with a team of external content contributors and distributors to enable us to increase our content output and reach.
  • Tracks and measures our content, social and SEO programs and optimizes resources against objectives and budget.
  • Contributes to the production of copy, original content articles, advertising, printed collateral in written or video format.
  • Works with influencers and content creators to execute content on behalf of the client across external channels.
  • Curates sharable and user-generated content and determines best suited platform for content.
  • Tracks social analytics and metrics against KPIs and weekly report and insights.
  • Collaborates with internal teams to optimize user experience.
  • Identifies trends and insights to optimize user experience, budget, and performance.
  • Supports email marketing platforms and distribution lists. Works with internal teams on creating content.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need:

  • Associates' degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism or relevant field, or
  • In lieu of education 2 years of relevant experience

What You'll Bring:

  • Design and produce digital and print materials including social graphics, presentations, brochures, infographics and email content.

  • Ensure allcreative aligns with internal and client brand standards, messaging and communication strategies.

  • Develop, organize and maintain digital asset libraries (icons, photography, stock imagery, templates) for efficient use.

  • Maintain file organization systems for easy access and reuse of creative materials.

  • Support the development and execution of content across social media, websites and external digital platforms.

  • Monitor and analyze performance metrics (social, content and SEO) against established KPIs.

  • Prepare regular reports with actionable insights and recommendations to optimize engagement and performance.

  • Contribute to internal and external communications through written, visual and multimedia content.

  • Coordinate with external vendors (e.g., printers and production partners) to ensure quality and timely delivery.

  • Assist with Public Involvement initiatives, including comment management, meeting materials,content creation, distribution list management and campaign execution.

  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Public Involvement and Communications, National Practice, and other creative teams.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills with experience editing and refining presentation templates to ensure visual consistency and usability

  • Basic understanding of social media platforms, content trends and digital marketing

  • Strong visual design and layout skills

  • Solid writing and editing ability for digital and print content

  • Experience or interest in photography and/or video content creation

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a collaborative environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with social media analytics or scheduling tools

  • Exposure to SEO or content optimization practices

  • Familiarity with email marketing platforms

  • Portfolio demonstrating a mix of design, digital content, writing and creative work

What We Prefer:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Journalism or related field

  • 1-2 years of experience (internships or freelance included) in graphic design, digital media, or communications preferred
