Job description

We are seeking an experienced, self-directed, and security-minded Senior IT Engineer to join The Goley Companies. Based at our headquarters in Dupo, Illinois, this role is the senior internal IT owner across every one of our locations — setting the endpoint, identity, and security standard for a growing organization, then carrying that standard into each new site and business we bring on. This is a senior, autonomous role: much of the week is self-directed, and the person who thrives here owns the endpoint, identity, and security posture of the environment, plans their own site rotation, manages equipment lifecycles proactively, and identifies problems before anyone submits a request.
Why Work With Us
For over 50 years, The Goley Companies have led the insulation contracting industry. We deliver Building Performance Solutions, expert installation, and exceed customer expectations.
Here, initiative is encouraged, innovation thrives, and collaboration feels like family. With the right tools, training, and support, we empower every team member to grow, succeed, and build a rewarding career.
Our Values in Action
Our core values guide everything we do—shaping how we work, grow, and succeed together.
  • Drive to Win – We set high standards and take pride in delivering exceptional results.
  • Deliver Beyond Expectations – We go the extra mile to ensure quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
  • Step Up amp; Take Ownership – Every team member is empowered to take initiative and make an impact.
  • Strive to Innovate – Continuous learning and problem-solving keep us at the forefront of our industry.
  • We Are Family – Respect, trust, and teamwork define our workplace culture.
At The Goley Companies, you're more than an employee—you're part of a team committed to building excellence together.

Key Responsibilities
Endpoint, Identity amp; Security
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, multi-factor authentication, password resets, and device enrollment through Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, or similar management platforms.
  • Configure, deploy, image, maintain, and retire laptops, desktops, and mobile devices.
  • Oversee and maintain accurate email distribution lists, shared mailboxes, and Microsoft 365 group memberships, ensuring groups stay current as employees are hired, transferred, or offboarded.
  • Administer, secure, and govern AI and SaaS tools at the endpoint and user layer—managing access and licensing, applying data-protection and acceptable-use safeguards, and guiding employees on the safe handling of company and customer data when using AI tools.
Acquisition Integration amp; IT Projects
  • Support the successful IT integration of newly acquired businesses by assessing existing technology environments and migrating users to company standards.
  • Inventory inherited hardware, software, licensing, and user environments while documenting existing infrastructure.
  • Coordinate equipment replacements, Microsoft 365 migrations, device deployments, and user onboarding for acquired employees.
  • Develop and continuously improve repeatable IT integration processes and documentation that support future company growth.
  • Build positive relationships with newly acquired employees by providing responsive support during transition periods.
Managed Service Provider (MSP) Partnership
  • Collaborate with the company's Managed Service Provider, which owns network and server infrastructure, while this role owns the endpoint, user, and equipment layer.
  • Serve as the on-site technical resource during infrastructure projects, troubleshooting, and vendor engagements.
  • Escalate issues with clear documentation, technical findings, and recommended next steps.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve support processes and strengthen collaboration between internal IT and external partners.
Technology Asset Management
  • Maintain accurate inventories of hardware, software licenses, peripherals, warranties, and technology assets across all company locations.
  • Coordinate equipment purchasing, lifecycle planning, hardware refresh schedules, and secure disposal of retired equipment.
  • Prepare, ship, recover, and configure equipment for new hires, employee transfers, and offboarding activities.
  • Help standardize technology, equipment, and support processes across all offices to improve consistency and efficiency.
Site Support amp; Travel
  • Travel regularly to company locations to provide hands-on technical support, equipment installations, office moves, and preventative maintenance. Most sites are drivable day trips from Dupo; some require flights and overnight stays.
  • Proactively identify technology improvements during site visits rather than waiting for support requests.
  • Plan travel schedules based on business priorities, acquisition timelines, equipment refresh cycles, and operational needs.
  • Support office expansions, workstation deployments, conference room technology, and local infrastructure needs.
End User Support
As the senior internal IT resource, this role also owns day-to-day end-user support across the company.
  • Serve as the primary IT support resource for employees across headquarters and branch locations, providing timely, professional, and customer-focused technical support.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, Windows and macOS operating systems, Microsoft 365, printer, mobile device, conferencing, and peripheral issues.
  • Own technical issues from initial request through final resolution while identifying and addressing root causes to minimize recurring issues.
  • Develop user-friendly documentation and provide technical guidance that enables employees to effectively use company technology.
Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • CompTIA Network+, or equivalent.
  • CompTIA Security+, or equivalent.
  • Cisco CCNA, or equivalent.
  • 8+ years of progressive IT support, systems administration, or IT operations experience, including experience working independently and supporting multiple sites or a distributed workforce.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and working macOS competence, along with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Intune (or similar endpoint management solutions), and common desktop hardware.
  • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi, VPN connectivity, and basic network troubleshooting.
  • Experience configuring, deploying, maintaining, and supporting endpoint devices in a business environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage your own priorities and work productively without close supervision.
  • Outstanding customer service and communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly to company locations, including occasional overnight travel.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to lift and install standard IT equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Microsoft Associate-level certification in Identity, Security, or Azure (e.g., SC-300, SC-200, AZ-104), or equivalent.
  • CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) or CISM (Certified Information Security Manager).
  • Experience supporting multiple office locations or distributed workforces.
  • Experience integrating acquired businesses or supporting mergers and acquisitions.
  • Experience working alongside a Managed Service Provider (MSP).
  • Experience with IT asset management and technology procurement.
  • PowerShell scripting or automation experience.
  • Familiarity with securing and administering AI or SaaS tools, including access management, data-protection practices, and end-user security awareness.
The Goley Advantage
We are a 50-year-old company in the middle of an aggressive growth run, and the internal IT function is being built now — by the person we hire into this seat. The standards you write, the tooling you choose, and the integration playbook you develop become how technology works at every Goley company, including the ones we haven't bought yet.
Our growth model is straightforward: we acquire well-run insulation and building-performance businesses and bring them onto a common platform. Every acquisition brings a technology environment to assess, migrate, secure, and standardize — real acquisition-integration experience, at a pace most engineers never get. You'll work directly with leadership, own the endpoint, identity, and security layer alongside our Managed Service Provider, and have a clear path to grow into broader IT leadership as the organization scales.
Our team members enjoy:
  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience and certifications
  • Excellent medical, dental, vision benefits
  • 401(k) with Company Match
  • Life and AD amp;D Insurance
  • Paid Time Off and Company Holidays
  • Company-paid certifications and renewals — CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft, CISSP/CISM — plus ongoing professional development
  • Company-paid travel expenses
  • Opportunities for career growth within a rapidly expanding organization
Here you're more than an employee; you're part of a team building excellence together.
