As a IT PROJECT MANAGER at the GS-2210-13 some of your typical work assignments may include:
  • Serving as Information Technology (IT) Project Manager (PM), center of expertise, lead government Point of Contact (POC), and Technical Representative for key IT projects.
  • Identifies and implements opportunities for improving project management efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Responsible for implementing best practices to bring about the successful completion of JS specific Information Technology related project goals and objectives for assigned projects.
  • Ensure no changes to approved project schedules absent prior Government coordination and approval.
  • Represents leadership to the JS, OSD, and external agencies.
  • Work with external agencies, services, and organizations, both government and commercial sector, to ensure the JS remains current with the state of commercial business technology practices while integrating the JS's IT requirements within DoD as well as Enterprise standards

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service:
  • Overseeing and ensuring the achievement of all project goals and objectives while honoring the project constraints, which include project scope, time and budget
  • Implementing best practices to bring about the successful completion of Information Technology related project goals and objectives for assigned projects;
  • Guiding contracted enterprise solution efforts, including Technical Oversight, Schedule Management, Customer Coordination, reporting, and post-delivery assessment.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
In addition to meeting qualifications, your application package must reflect the applicable experience to meet the Individual Occupational Requirements for the 2210 series.
