Position Title:ย Local Operations Internship
Work Schedule:ย Tuesday โ€“ Thursday, approx. 30 hours per week
Reporting Relationship: SVP IT / Staffing (Primary Supervisor)
Location:ย Remote or HQ Office location
Prairie Pathways IT / Staffing Overview:
The Prairie Pathways IT / Staffing Internship is designed to provide students with hands-on exposure to multiple operational areas within Prairie Bandโ€™s family of companies. This hybrid internship allows participants to gain real-world experience in Business Development, Program Management and Government Contracting.
Interns will initially shadow the SVP IT / Staffing to gain an overall understanding of the organization and its general business development strategy, that includes an understanding of our subsidiaries and the overall mission of the LLC. As the internship progresses, the intern will rotate through various departments including PBHS, Soldier Creek and Prairie Hill Services and contribute to daily operational activities to include SOP development.
The internship program runs from early June through mid-August each year, with workdays Tuesday through Thursday for approximately 30 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
Business Development
  • Shadow PBHS Program Manger to learn opportunity sourcing processes
  • Train in Market Analysis tools used to conduct research on business opportunities
  • Learn Pipeline development processes and procedures
  • Learn our Proposal Development Process in coordination with the Proposal Management team
Program Management
  • Participate in daily Project Management activities within PBHS
  • Learn the process of billing, AR and AP
Recruiting
  • Participate in the Recruiting process associated with Proposal Responses and the Replenishment of providers on existing contracts
    • Conduct Market Research to determine pricing for bids
    • Participate in Personnel Packet development for proposal submissions
Credentialing
  • Shadow team members to learn the Credentialing process and assist in building packets for client submission.
General Internship Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate documentation and record keeping.
  • Communicate with team members across departments to support daily operations
  • Follow all company safety policies and operational procedures
  • Participate in training opportunities and mentorship activities
  • Assist with special projects and process improvement initiatives
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Must be a high school graduate (or have a GED) and at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a strong attendance record and reliable transportation.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to multiple work environments.
  • Ability to lift and move materials when assisting in warehouse operations.
