The position begins with a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week in our Laurel, Maryland office. During this initial period, the candidate will receive hands-on training while working directly with Arrow's sales team.

Candidates who demonstrate the ability, professionalism, and commitment to succeed will have the opportunity to progress into a full-time sales position and ultimately develop toward a Regional Sales Consultant role.

  • Making outbound calls to financial advisors and helping generate meetings.
  • Learning how to prospect and develop new business relationships.
  • Developing professional phone, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Learning how to conduct effective sales conversations and ask appropriate discovery questions.
  • Following up with financial advisors and prospective clients.
  • Using Salesforce to document activity and manage relationships.
  • Learning Arrow's investment strategies and basic investment and portfolio concepts.
  • Participating in sales meetings, training, and professional development.

As the candidate develops, responsibilities will expand to include more direct advisor interaction, opportunity development, and participation in the growth of an assigned sales territory.

Qualifications

A college degree is not required.

Previous financial-services experience is also not required. We are interested in candidates who demonstrate:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A willingness to make outbound calls and develop new relationships.
  • Curiosity about investing, business, and financial markets.
  • A competitive and goal-oriented mindset.
  • Coachability and a desire to improve.
  • Strong follow-through and personal accountability.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to study for and obtain required financial-industry licenses as responsibilities increase.

Previous sales, customer service, business development, or financial experience is helpful but not required.

Critical Success Factors

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • Consistent effort and reliability.
  • Willingness to learn and accept coaching.
  • Comfort communicating with new people.
  • Persistence and the ability to handle rejection.
  • Curiosity and problem-solving ability.
  • Professionalism and strong follow-through.
  • A genuine interest in developing a career in sales.

Skills & Experience

  • Praxis Candidate/Graduate welcomed.
  • 0–1 year of professional experience preferred.
  • Microsoft Office familiarity.
  • Salesforce experience is a plus.
  • FINRA Series 6 or Series 7 is a plus, but is not required to start.
  • Investment or financial market knowledge is a plus but can be developed through the program.

Compensation & Career Development

The position begins as a developmental opportunity with a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week in the Laurel office. The objective is to identify and develop individuals with the potential to progress to a full-time position at Arrow.

As candidates demonstrate readiness, they can take on greater responsibilities, pursue appropriate financial-industry licensing, participate more directly in advisor relationships, and progress toward a Regional Sales Consultant position.

Full-time sales positions include a base salary with the opportunity to earn additional performance-based compensation as responsibilities and production increase.
