Job Summary (Basic Functions): We are seeking a Logistics Intern to support supply chain and logistics operations within the Americas Region at our corporate office in Atlanta, GA. This role provides hands-on experience in order processing, shipment coordination, and operational tracking while supporting import/export activities and inventory management. This is a hands-on, entry level role designed for individuals interested in developing practical experience in logistics and supply chain operations within a corporate environment. Qualified candidates must live in the Atlanta, GA area during the Internship.

The goal of this program is to prepare future candidates for LG Chem.

What You’ll Be Doing

 

Essential Functions (include but are not limited to):

  • Assist in creating and processing Sales Order (SO) and Purchase Orders (PO) in SAP
  • Support import/export logistics coordination with freight forwarders and 3PL partners
  • Prepare shipping and customs documentation to ensure compliance with international trade requirements
  • Monitor inventory transactions and assist with reconciliation across warehouse locations
  • Track and support resolution of damaged or lost goods claims
  • Track order and shipment status, providing timely updates on delivery schedules
  • Communicate with internal teams and external customers regarding order and shipment status
  • Assist in preparing reports on order accuracy and delivery performance

Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist with data analysis and reporting using SAP, Excel, or other tools
  • Support documentation and tracking of logistics processes
  • Participate in process improvement and system enhancement initiatives

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: What We’re Looking For

Education: Students must be currently enrolled in their Junior or Senior year pursuing a degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field

Requirements:

  • 0-2 years of relevant experience (internship or academic)
  • Basic understanding of logistics and supply chain processes
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

 

Preferred Qualification/What We’d Like to See:

  • Familiarity with SAP or ERP systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot talbes, formulas)
