Job description

ViaPath is currently seeking an Intelligence Associate (Entry Level) to join our team in Raleigh, NC.  The position will be based at the customer site.  The responsibility of the Intelligence Associate will be to transcribe recorded audio from phone-based interactions using proprietary software tools.  The selected candidate will have the opportunity to utilize training and experience to assist Corrections Investigations staff in the development of actionable intelligence within the facilities supported. 


  • Listen to calls to extract data to help identify trends within the facilities
  • Collects and compiles data
  • Assist facility staff with investigations by utilizing specialized software
  • Establish a fundamental understanding of the facility’s operation to include policies and procedures, and data sources available for analysis
  • Proactively assist in helping the customer to accomplish objectives and mission
  • Submit detailed reports to customer regarding intelligence findings
  • Fulfill requests for all call recordings or other related data as authorized and requested
  • Participation in court or other administrative related hearings as needed

  • High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice is preferred
  • 0-1 year of related administrative experience required; Corrections/Police experience desired
  • Ability to develop a fundamental understanding of intelligence processes in a correctional environment to include institutional operations and criminal procedures
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent listening skills
  • Ability to transcribe information; strong typing skills
  • Prepared to testify in court or other administrative related hearings as needed
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows OS and Microsoft Suite
  • Ability to learn ViaPath and third-party software applications within the first six months of hire
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet competing deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an interest and ability to conduct analysis and report on findings
  • Fluency (written and verbal) in English is required; Additional fluency (written and verbal) in Spanish is preferred
