Responsibilities

NV5, is seeking a Geotechnical Intern - High School Student The High School Geotechnical Intern will support basic laboratory, office, and field preparation tasks within the Geotechnical Group. This role is designed for students exploring engineering or environmental science careers and seeking early exposure to professional work.

  • Lab Cleanliness & Organization - Maintain a clean and orderly geotechnical lab, including sweeping, wiping surfaces, organizing tools, and assisting with equipment cleanup.
  • Sample Handling Support - Assist with labeling, storing, and organizing soil samples under supervision.
  • Office Support Tasks - Perform basic administrative duties such as scanning, filing, and document organization.
  • Field Preparation Assistance - Help prepare field equipment and materials; may participate in field activities depending on age and safety requirements.
  • Team Support - Assist engineers and technicians with simple tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in high school.
  • Interest in engineering, construction, geology, or environmental science.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work safely.
  • Comfortable performing physical tasks (lifting up to ~50 lbs).
  • Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn.
