Job description

Role: Software Integration & Test Engineer
Client: Defense-Aerospace
Hourly Rate: up to $46/hr (W2, non-benefited)  
Length: 12-months
Location: Scottsdale, AZ
Clearance: Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Execute software integration and test (I&T) on software defined hardware solutions
  • Troubleshoot software bugs realized during I&T, working with hardware and software engineers to resolve
  • Follow best practices for test automation, continuous integration, and test reporting
  • Suppprt development of automated test scripts using Python 3.9+ 
  • Coordinate integration activities between hardware, firmware, and software teams
  • Support AGILE implementation
  • Support configuration management documentation and processes to release and deliver software
  • Maintain accurate records of test activities and results
 
Required Skills: 
  • Knowledge and experience with object-oriented programming, and scripting languages, Python
  • Experience with hardware/software integration testing
  • Experience with test equipment (signal analyzer, signal generator, USRP)
  • Willing to work in a fast-paced, rapid-prototype environment, adapting to immediate course correction as needed
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Outstanding communication skills for frequent contact with managers, project teams across the company and external customers and vendors
 
Desired Skills:
  • Familiarity with software testing and debug
  • Background in defense or aerospace industries
  • Team player who thrives in collaborative environments and revels in team success, meeting and exceeding personal and team commitments
  • Ability to grasp and apply new information quickly and handle increasing responsibilities with growing complexity
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Agile experience preferred
 
Required Education and Experience:
A Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field. Also requires 2+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree and 6 months of job-related experience.
