Position Title: TTCC Instructor

Department/Unit: PDD/TTCC

Reports To: Academic Supervisor/Workforce Development Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY

The TTCC Instructor delivers high-quality instruction and training at Tarzana Treatment Centers College (TTCC). This role encompasses teaching assigned courses, developing instructional materials, and supporting students’ academic progress in accordance with approved curricula and institutional policies.

The TTCC Instructor ensures that the course content remains pertinent to current and relevant behavioral and public health workforce education, including applicable theories, prevention strategies, service interventions, research, and treatment models.

The TTCC Instructor supports student’s academic program by providing instruction-related guidance and feedback to assist with successful completion of coursework and assignments; in collaboration with Academic Supervisor and Academic Support Specialist when necessary. By fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment, the TTCC Instructor enhances student success, retention and preparedness for entry-level roles in the behavioral healthcare and related workforce settings.

CATEGORIES OF DUTIES

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance and grades, ensuring compliance with institutional policies.

• Submit finalized course syllabi to the Academic Supervisor prior to the commencement of the course term and introduce the syllabi to students before the course begins.

• Schedule and hold in person and/or online office hours, as appropriate, to provide instructional support related to course content and academic requirements.

• Communicate regularly with students and respond to student correspondence within 24 hours to foster effective instructional engagement.

• Participate in professional development meetings to remain current with instructional methods, workforce standards and course delivery expectations.

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive Learning Management Course Page to facilitate organized and efficient course delivery.

• Submit grades in the Gradebook within seven (7) days of assignment due dates to ensure timely feedback for students.

• Conduct live course orientations and closeout sessions to provide live instructional context and reinforce course expectations for students.

• Maintain fairness and integrity in the student evaluation process and participate, as needed, in the resolution of grade disputes or academic concerns, in coordination with the Academic Supervisor.

• Identify and communicate instructional/academic concerns impacting student progress (e.g., academic performance, engagement, or academic integrity) to Academic Supervisor and appropriate support staff for review and follow-up.

• Collaborate with faculty and administrative staff to ensure cohesive and effective program delivery.

• Support and contribute to the initiatives, efforts, policy and procedures of TTCC and Tarzana Treatment Centers ensuring alignment with the organization's mission and goals.

Medical Assistant (MA) Program Instructor



1. Deliver and continuously improve the MA curriculum in alignment with state and federal requirements governing medical assisting education and/or clinical skill development.

2. Teach didactic and skills‑based coursework that prepares students for clinical and administrative responsibilities within various healthcare settings.

3. Deliver instruction in accordance with approved curricula, institutional policies, and regulatory requirements to support program compliance and student competency.

4. Integrate evidence‑based, patient‑centered practices into instruction, emphasizing professionalism, safety, and ethical conduct within the scope of medical assisting practice.

5. Participate in professional development activities to enhance instructional effectiveness and remain current with healthcare regulations, technology, and workforce trends relevant to medical assistants.


EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience or equivalent education, training, and professional experience in the subject area being taught, consistent with BPPE requirements for non-degree institutions.

• Experience in student instruction, academic support, advising, or related roles within an educational institution preferred.

• Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students.

• Knowledge of instructional methods, student support resources and strategies to promote student success.

• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, psychology, related behavioral health or healthcare field.

• High School Diploma or GED Required
