Job description

Claims Operations Assistant

Multi-state commercial insurance carrier is seeking a Claims Operations Assistant for a position based in their Vancouver, WA office. This is an entry-level position which will provide administrative support to the Claims Technicians and office management.

Key Accountabilities/Deliverables:

  • Answers multi-line phone system
  • Takes messages and distributes them efficiently and appropriately
  • Clarifies and answers customer requests for information.
  • Explains the claim reporting process to customers.
  • Documents loss reports
  • Enters data pursuant to claim reports
  • Organizes claim files
  • Processes payments
  • Provides additional general administrative assistance to claims technicians, as well as senior staff members

Technical Knowledge and Understanding:

  • Proficient data entry skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Prior claims experience is helpful

Experience:

  • High School diploma is required, some college preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work in a team environment and be flexible to daily changing needs and job duties
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities
  • Effective time management
  • Ability to learn database applications related to claims services
  • Bilingual English/Spanish candidates preferred

The expected pay range for the role is $42,000 - $45,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant's skills and experiences. The disclosed pay range estimate may also be adjusted for the applicable geographic differential for the location in which the position is filled.
