DESCRIPTION

Looking to make a career change? We provide onsite training for a career in the Medical Repair industry. We currently have one opening for an Entry Level Instrument Repair Technician.

As an entry level technician you will earn anywhere from $16.50 to $18.76 per hour depending on a basic skills test. As you progress and learn new skills, you will be eligible for pay increases.

We are also open to more experienced technicians!

Essential Functions and Duties:

Evaluate the cosmetic appearance and repair needs of surgical instruments.

Effectively use repair-related hand tools; such as dremels, hammers, screwdrivers, pliers, punches, drills, dies, taps, belt sanders, grinding wheels, bead blasters, burnishers, polishers, soldering equipment, and acetylene torches.

Effectively use measuring tools; such as digital calipers.

Perform all form, fit, functional, and cutting tests on all instruments.

Execute heat adjustments, simple silver & tin soldering, and other repair-related metal fabrication.

Perform other repair and maintenance duties as deemed necessary by the department lead or manager.

Understand and follow the applicable quality system process and work instructions.

Must be able to perform preventative maintenance tasks such as: change ultrasonic cleaning solutions, clean bag house filters, change glass bead & bead blaster filters, and perform other maintenance duties as assigned.

Ability to read, understand, and enter data into production-related software is critical.

Qualifications

Required Education or Certifications:

HS Diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.

Knowledge of metal fabrication, soldering applications, metallurgy, measurement tools, and some computer experience preferred.

Physical Demands:

Vision correctable to 20/20 with full-color spectrum recognition is required to discern small variances in measurement, material, and quality.ย  This position must be able to visually and physically determine variations within tolerances equal to scalpel sharpness.ย  Predominantly required to sit, stand, and walk as part of the daily routine.ย  Based upon the relationship to manufacturing and production, the ability to move or transport goods and materials, up to 40 pounds is important but not required.ย 

Working Conditions:

This is an indoor-based position located in a repair facility.ย  The work is generally a mix between sitting and standing, predominantly sitting.ย  Moderate but rare lifting, up to 40 pounds unaided, is important but not required.ย  A flexible work schedule, based upon work flow and hospital demand, is required.
