Position title : Ignition Engineers
Location: Orangeburg, SC

Mode: Hybrid 2-3 days from corporate office and plants

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Ignition SCADA Engineer to design, develop, and maintain industrial control systems using the Inductive Automation Ignition platform. This role focuses on backend development, scalable SCADA architecture, and seamless integration with manufacturing and industrial systems.

You will collaborate closely with IT, Engineering, and Operations teams to deliver secure, high-performance, and maintainable automation solutions.


Key ResponsibilitiesIgnition Development
  • Design and build SCADA applications using Ignition Vision and Perspective modules
  • Develop scalable and reusable industrial automation solutions
Scripting & Backend Development
  • Write modular Python/Jython scripts for gateway events, tag changes, and system logic
  • Implement efficient backend logic for industrial workflows
Database Integration
  • Design and maintain database schemas
  • Write optimized SQL queries for data logging, reporting, and analytics
  • Improve system performance through query and schema optimization
System Integration
  • Integrate Ignition with PLCs, HMIs, and industrial equipment
  • Work with OPC-UA, MQTT, and REST APIs for system connectivity
Deployment & Support
  • Support FAT/SAT testing and system commissioning
  • Troubleshoot production issues and provide technical documentation and training
