An entry-level HVAC installation technician helps to install heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in homes and businesses. As an entry-level technician, you usually perform your duties alongside a more-experienced technician or handle specific responsibilities as a member of an installation team. HVAC technicians also repair or replace parts or ductwork on existing systems. You often work with building infrastructures such as plumbing, gas, water pump, and electrical systems. You work with different heating systems depending on the details of each installation project, and you teach the building owner how to work thermostats and controls after installation.
