PositionSummary:

At Seattle Humane, our approach to Human Resources management is rooted in ourmission, values, and commitment toa thrivingand inclusive workplace.The Human ResourcesAssociateis responsible forbeginning-stagerecruitingandsupportingall areas of Human Resourceswhileproviding excellentservice to employees, candidates, andthecommunity. This positionprimarily works at the Seattle Humane campusin Bellevue, WAwith occasionalremote workopportunities.

KEY OR ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Supports recruiting, posts job openings, screensresumes, schedules and conducts phone interviews, andcollaborateswith hiring managers.
  • Workswith management and teams to develop deep familiarity and understanding of job duties and work culture in Seattle Humaneandaccurately communicatesexpectations to candidates.
  • Developsand diversifiesSeattleHumane'shiring sources and programs,createsrelationships with community partners.
  • Prepares materials fornew employeesand supports theonboarding/offboardingprocesses.
  • Maintains current andaccurateemployeeinformation, follows established procedures, and looks for ways to increaseefficiency.
  • Processesbenefits enrollments, changes, and terminations, including partnering with Finance for applicable payroll changes.
  • Manages Pet Reimbursement program, tracking and approvals, employee communication, and submitting reimbursements toFinance.
  • Member of theSeattle Humane Safety Committeeand manages HR complianceand communicationfor thisgroup.
  • Managescompliancefor office postings, signage, tracking completed training, andotherprograms.
  • Assistswith preparing reports, metrics, and pulling data for use internally.
  • Researchesandextractsfacts, themes, trends, etc. in HRtopics (employment laws, animal welfare partners, HR groups,hiring data, etc.).
  • Maintainsconfidentialityand professionalismat all times.
  • Providessupportiveservice to employeesand/or refers them toHRteam asappropriate.
  • Participates in HR cross-training initiatives,leadsinteractionswith curiosity and looks for win-win solutionsfor employees, the HR team, and the organization.

  • Two tofour years of Human Resources experiencerequired.

  • Highly organized work style, with attention to detail.
  • Exhibits professional maturity and ability tomaintainconfidentiality.
  • Desire and willingness to increase learning in the HRfieldand take on projects to support growth.
  • Familiarity with state and federal employment laws preferred.
  • Previousexperience working with nonprofits preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

General office and animal shelter environment. When handling animals, there is a potential of animal bites, exposure to zoonotic diseases, animaldanderand noise.

Equipment Use:Regular use ofcomputer,printer,copier,scanner,badgeprinterandtelephone.

Work Hours:Typical business hours,full-time, Monday through Friday, withveryoccasionalevening or weekend hours to support Seattle Humane events.
