Position: Human Resources Generalist & Talent Sourcing
Location: Prineville, OR (hybrid work schedule)
Salary: $34 - $38 / hr
R-2 Contractors is currently seeking a motivated Human Resources Generalist & Talent Sourcing to join our expanding team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to our continued success with a company that values integrity and professionalism.
Responsibilities
Human Resources Generalist
  • Manage end-to-end onboarding and offboarding for both union and core employees.
  • Coordinate pre-employment requirements, including background checks, drug screenings, and required new hire documentation.
  • Complete and maintain Form I-9 documentation and employment eligibility verification.
  • Manage employee setup and changes within the HRIS, ensuring accurate and timely employee records.
  • Process terminations and employee separations, including required documentation and system updates.
  • Coordinate with Payroll, Benefits, IT, Operations, and other departments throughout onboarding and offboarding.
  • Ensure union employee processes align with applicable collective bargaining agreements and company procedures.
  • Serve as an HR point of contact for employees and managers throughout onboarding and offboarding.
Talent Sourcing
  • Source and identify qualified candidates for key company positions including field operations, project management, estimating, and others.
  • Experience sourcing for heavy civil construction, underground utilities, power infrastructure, renewable energy, utility-scale construction, or similar technical environments is strongly preferred.
  • Conduct proactive candidate outreach through LinkedIn, job boards, resume databases, phone, email, text, and other sourcing channels.
  • Conduct initial candidate intake calls to assess experience, qualifications, availability, location, and overall fit.
  • Schedule qualified candidates for interviews and appointments with Senior Recruiters.
  • Partner closely with Senior Recruiters to understand position requirements, priorities, and ideal candidate profiles.
  • Build and maintain talent pipelines for recurring and hard-to-fill roles.
  • Maintain accurate candidate activity, notes, status, and contact information within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
  • Track sourcing activity and pipeline metrics, including outreach, responses, intake calls, appointments, and candidate conversions.

Requirements:
  • 2+ years of direct construction sourcing experience required.
  • Demonstrated experience sourcing Project Managers, Estimators, Mechanics, Superintendents, and other construction leadership and professional roles.
  • Strong experience with LinkedIn, job boards, resume databases, and proactive candidate outreach.
  • Experience conducting candidate intake calls, evaluating qualifications, and scheduling candidates with recruiters.
  • Experience working within an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and managing multiple candidate pipelines.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while partnering closely with Senior Recruiters.
  • Previous HR, HRIS, onboarding, or employee lifecycle experience preferred but not required; training will be provided.
