Job description

Overview

Atlanta Hybrid

Work for a company that is truly making the world a happier place, one smile at a time! At Benevis, we create over a million smiles a year in the communities we serve and believe that every person deserves access to quality, affordable dental care. This mission drives everything we do. With over 2,000 employees in offices across the country from clinical to support staff - we are united in our mission to create happy, healthy smiles through providing high quality dental care in a fun, compassionate environment. Are you ready to join us in creating our next million smiles? We have JUST the opportunity for you.

The HR Support Center is a cross-trained team of HR Support Services Generalists who excel at customer service and provide the full range of day-to-day HR services for Benevis's practices and support departments. As an important part of the HR Team, the Generalist replaces a single-owner model with a shared, standardized approach: each HR Support Services Generalist is trained across the full scope of transactional HR work to ensure consistent coverage. This structure is intended to provide high levels of customer service and to drive strong outcomes, more reliable team member data in the HR system and more consistent handling of team member movement across the company. The HR Support Services Generalist owns the core life cycle functions that make this possible: onboarding, offboarding, compliance administration, status changes, and reporting.

Responsibilities

Team Member Lifecycle Management

  • Develop, streamline, and oversee the full cycle onboarding process, including pre-onboarding through post-Day 1 to provide a thorough onboarding experience for all new team members.
  • Partner with new team members on the online onboarding process; acknowledgements, required certifications, system setup, and check-ins to ensure a complete and compliant start.
  • Act as liaison with Talent Acquisition, Human Resources, hiring managers, IT and Credentialing on the onboarding process.
  • Send welcome communications, process background checks and enter team members in systems (iCIMS and ADP).
  • Follow-up with hiring manager and team member prior to start date and follow the pre-start checklist.
  • Coach hiring managers on Day 1 preparation and support for the new team member throughout the assimilation process.
  • Process team member offboarding including assisting leaders with documenting terminations, providing termination documents, and ensuring deactivation and completion of the offboarding process.
  • Process transfers, promotions, and demotions using standardized, consistently applied processes, partnering with other HR professionals to ensure accurate updates to compensation, title, reporting lines, and HRIS records.
  • Assist with ensuring job descriptions are completed and in the company’s standard job description template.
  • Administer team member status changes, including changes in employment classification, FT/PT status, location, title changes.
  • Draft and issue termination letters and no-call/no-show documentation in accordance with company policy and applicable law.
  • Responsible for sending exit interview questionnaires to all team members departing the company.
  • Prepare severance communications and related documentation, coordinating with HR leadership as needed.
  • Ensure team member license and certification compliance based on role and state requirements, including monitoring the compliance dashboard and license expiration dates.

Compliance Administration

  • Maintain federal, state, and local labor law poster compliance across all company locations.
  • Administer Form I-9 completion, verification, and reverification processes including monitoring and communicating expiration of work authorizations and maintaining audit-ready records.
  • Conduct regular data audits within ADP to proactively identify and correct discrepancies, ensuring accurate and reliable team member records.
  • Complete employment verification requests including income/employment verification in a timely and compliant manner.
  • Manage the process of unemployment claims including compiling the necessary information, partnering with others, responding to information requests, and attending meetings as required.
  • Responsible for EEOC reporting to the Department of Labor (DOL), and other government reporting as requested.

Documentation, Reporting & Process

  • Develop and maintain basic Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for HR processes to standardize service delivery across the team.
  • Partner with company leaders to ensure compliance with HR processes, handbook, and policies, serving as a consistent point of contact that reduces confusion and variability in how HR processes are applied across departments.
  • Generate entry-level HR reports for HR leadership and operational stakeholders.
  • Administer and audit PTO accrual balances, ensuring accurate application of company policy and correcting discrepancies.
  • Serve as a cross-trained backup across all HR Support Center functions to ensure continuous, uninterrupted service to team members and leaders, and to distribute workload evenly across the team.

Qualifications
  • Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years prior experience in an HR administrative, HR generalist, or HR coordinator role; multi-location and healthcare industry experience is a plus.
  • Strong customer service orientation and willingness to go above and beyond to assist leaders and team members with resolving issues.
  • Compliance Knowledge: Working knowledge of I-9, poster compliance, and basic federal/state employment law requirements.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with HRIS/payroll systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Core Skills: Strong organization and time management; ability to manage a high volume of concurrent tasks with accuracy; discretion with confidential information; clear written and verbal communication.
  • Role requires critical thinking, sound judgement with sensitive and confidential information, ability to identify potential risks and consideration of alternative approaches when necessary.

Work Environment & Team Structure

This role is one of three positions comprising the HR Support Center. All three HR Support Services Generalists need to be cross trained on each function listed above and share coverage responsibility, so the team can flex capacity and maintain continuity during absences, peak periods, or turnover. At times, individual HR Support Services Generalists may be assigned ownership of specific functions or projects, but all are expected to maintain working proficiency across the full scope of duties.

We Offer:

  • Competitive compensation
  • Comprehensive Benefits Package: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K with match, flexible spending accounts, paid time off, company holidays and much more!

We value teamwork, mutual respect and cooperation. We do not practice unlawful discrimination, including harassment or tolerate it in our workplace. What do we mean by discrimination? We mean that we do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, creed, religion, sex, national origin, age, citizenship, disability, sexual orientation or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local law.
