Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized HR Generalist to join our Human Resources team supporting a multi-location substance abuse and behavioral healthcare organization. This position will provide day-to-day HR support to employees and leaders while assisting with employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, compliance, performance management, benefits, and HR administration.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who can work independently, maintain confidentiality, manage multiple priorities, and provide consistent HR support in a fully remote environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as an HR resource for employees and managers regarding policies, procedures, and workplace concerns.
  • Support employee relations matters, investigations, corrective actions, and performance management.
  • Coordinate recruitment, background checks, drug screenings, onboarding, and pre-employment requirements.
  • Assist with maintaining employee licenses, certifications, credentials, and required documentation.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS information.
  • Assist with benefits, leave administration, payroll-related matters, and employee status changes.
  • Support compliance with applicable employment laws, company policies, and healthcare regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with employee separations, including resignations, terminations, and offboarding.
  • Partner with leadership across multiple locations to address staffing and employee needs.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive employee and organizational information.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of progressive HR experience preferred.
  • Experience with employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, and HR administration.
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices and employment regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote environment.
  • Proficiency with HRIS and Microsoft Office or similar systems.
Preferred Experience
  • Healthcare, behavioral health, mental health, or substance abuse treatment experience.
  • Experience supporting multiple locations or remote employees.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred
  • Experience with healthcare licensing, credentialing, Joint Commission, CARF, or state regulatory requirements.
