McGovern Automotive Group is proud to boast our newly acquired Chevrolet Store on Mass Ave in Arlington! We are seeking skilled technicians! We are in need of Technicians of all levels!

  • Master Technicians are being paid up to $60/hr with a$20,000 sign-on bonus!
  • Used Car Technicians are being paid $70,000 per year.

We are the fastest growing Automotive Dealer Group in New England and we are proud to boast our 30+ locations with many more on the way. We offer detailed training, defined processes to aid in every team members success, time off for all major holidays and comprehensive pay plan structures that others won't compete with.

Whether you are an experienced technician or interested in starting an automotive career, we have openings at all levels. Experienced technicians can take advantage of our commitment to on-going training and production bonuses, while entry level techs can be entered into our McGovern apprenticeship program. In this program you will be mentored by a master technician and supported while you attend technician training programs. We are constantly looking to our technicians for ways to make our shops more efficient via weekly technician meetings or yearly corporate roundtable meetings.

What to expect as an automotive technician.

As an Automotive Technician, you will provide superior automotive service including engine analysis, fuel injection, steering/ suspension, exhaust, and computer-controlled systems, along with struts, shocks, cooling/heating, brakes, and other important service needs.

The Auto Technician should understand under-hood mechanics and undercarriage assemblies. Based on your ability and willingness to learn, you will have the opportunity to advance to other key service-oriented positions within the company.

Qualifications

Experienced technicians must have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and tools. OEM/ASE certifications are a must. A-level/Master automotive technicians must possess the proficiency to execute comprehensive diagnostics and repairs across various automotive systems.

Entry level tech must have a valid driver's license, high school diploma, GED, or in process of completing high school, and a reliable form of transportation.

Entry Level Technician/Maintenance Technician

  • Obtain entry level/maintenance level, apprentice level certification from OEM
  • Starter level tool kit with cart on consignment until tenure requirement is met.
  • Split time with mentor and work independently on maintenance style jobs.
  • Potential to enter McGovern apprentice program.

C-Level Technician

  • Split time with mentor and working independently on A/B level jobs.
  • Complete all jobs with assistance from a mentor.
  • Continue to work through OEM training (self-paced modules, in classroom training)

B-Level Technician

  • Mid-level OEM certification
  • Work as a line technician on maintenance and light repair while being challenged with occasional heavier work.

A-Level Technician
