Heavy Equipment Mechanic


D&J Construction Company, a highway contractor, is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team.


As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy equipment used in the highway construction industry.


Responsibilities will include:

  • Inspecting heavy equipment utilized in the highway construction industry
  • Perform routine maintenance on the equipment in an effort to minimize breakdowns
  • Diagnosing and repairing the equipment when breakdowns do happen
  • Testing the repaired equipment to ensure it is functioning properly after repairs have been made
  • Work in collaboration with other team members to accomplish the above functions in a safe and timely manner


Qualifications:

  • Prior experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Physical ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Owning personal tools will provide an advantage
  • Willing to provide specific equipment training if other requirements are met
