Job description

Position Title: Healthcare Optimization Analyst.
Fulltime Exempt.
Supervisor: Manager of Healthcare Technology and Optimization.
 
Position Summary: The Healthcare Optimization Analyst at the Louisiana Primary Care Association (LPCA) is responsible for leveraging healthcare data analytics and clinical coordination to drive improvements in patient outcomes, grant performance, and quality initiatives across LPCA’s network of Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs). This role bridges clinical practice and informatics, translating data insights into actionable
strategies for health center staff, and supporting LPCA’s mission to promote accessible, affordable, quality healthcare services for underserved populations

Responsibilities:
Data Analysis & Interpretation:
  • Analyze healthcare datasets using advanced analytical tools and techniques.
  • Interpret data to identify trends, patterns, and actionable opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop visually compelling and informative data visualizations using tools such as Power BI and EMR/EHR systems.

Clinical Coordination & Communication:
  • Collaborate with clinical and informatics teams to ensure data-driven recommendations are effectively implemented.
  • Act as a liaison to communicate analytical findings and strategies to clinical staff.
  • Facilitate 1-on-1 coaching sessions and group training events to promote understanding and adoption of best practices.

Performance Measurement & Reporting:
  • Develop and manage methodologies for data collection and performance measurement.
  • Ensure compliance with grant, contract, and industry reporting requirements.
  • Aggregate, analyze, and report health center data in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Maintain knowledge of reporting standards such as UDS, HEDIS, Meaningful Use, PCMH, and HRSA Quality Reporting.

Continuous Improvement & Knowledge Management:
  • Stay current with industry standards, best practices, and benchmark databases.
  • Continuously assess and optimize data systems to support quality improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development of reports and manuscripts for dissemination and publication.
  • Coordinate and maintain the LPCA database housing all key data measures

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (healthcare, informatics, data science, or related discipline); Master’s degree preferred.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in healthcare data analytics, informatics, or clinical quality improvement.
  • Proficiency with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI), EMR/EHR systems, and statistical analysis methods.
  • Strong data management, organization, and communication skills.
  • Experience delivering data summaries and actionable reports to support healthcare process improvement.
  • Familiarity with UDS standards, grant reporting requirements, and primary care quality measures.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with clinical, IT, and administrative teams.
 
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Healthcare Informatics, Public Health, Data Analytics) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience in data analytics, informatics, or data management, preferably in healthcare; advanced degree (Master’s) and 2-3 years of experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Strong understanding of healthcare quality improvement, outcome measurements, and reporting standards.
  • Experience in developing and delivering data-driven reports and presentations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to facilitate training and coaching sessions.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated cultural competence and awareness of the needs of FQHCs and underserved populations
