Job description

A global machine tools manufacturer in the Automotive Industry is looking for an entry-level or junior level Electrical Engineer. They have been serving OEM/Tier 1 & 2 Suppliers with their automation robotic machines for years.

The ideal candidate for this position is someone who has an Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, interest in the Automotive industry and is familiar with PLC programming. They will give you training if you are fresh graduates with an Electrical Engineering degree.

We are only accepting candidates who live near Troy, OH because we will give you a technical test as part of your first interview. You must be able to take the test at the facility, and we are not able to provide your travel expense for the interview.

Responsibilities of Electrical Engineer:

  • Design and develop PLC-based software programs specific requirement
  • Design and improve the HMI of robots to enhance functionality and user-friendliness
  • Debug and commission control systems at the facility, during the system integration stage, and the customer's site during installation
  • Select, test, and integrate hardware and software components such as robots, analog devices, motion controllers, sensors, vision systems, and lasers
  • Travel as required to customer and supplier sites to perform installation, commissioning, and training duties as assigned
  • Provide thorough testing of machine functionality to verify software program completeness
  • Work with other members of the control systems team to continuously improve and enhance functionality, while reducing cost
  • Provide support for robot installation and work with the installation manager to ensure complete commissioning of the robot in the field
  • Other job duties are assigned as needed

Qualifications of Electrical Engineer:

  • Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field degree
  • Minimum of 1 year experience with PLC programming
  • Experience with industrial robots
  • Experience with troubleshooting and point-to-point testing electrical systems
  • Familiarity with motion control and robotics applications
  • Experience in hands-on wiring of electrical panels
  • Familiarity with power distribution circuits, cable and fuse selection, etc
  • Familiarity with DC circuit design and wiring
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills Is travel up to 25%
  • While performing the duties of this job, you may be required to type for extended periods throughout the day and intermittently sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision, as well as, lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
