Job description

Ovadia Interior Design and Architecture is a nationally recognized interior design and architecture studio in the heart of Manhattan, known for blending modern elegance, warmth, and a little bit of magic into every space we create. We design fully customized interiors for high-end homes, luxury apartments, and standout development projects, and we genuinely love the work and the people we do it with.
We are looking for a Junior Interior Designer who is curious, detail-loving, and excited to grow. This is an entry-level role and a real launchpad. You will work shoulder to shoulder with our designers on luxury residential projects, learn the craft from people who love teaching it, and help bring our signature elevated aesthetic to life. If you light up over a beautifully composed concept board, we would love to meet you.
What you will be doing
  • Helping build design presentations, from concept boards to FF&E selections to materials palettes that make clients say yes
  • Drafting accurate AutoCAD drawings, including floor plans, elevations, and reflected ceiling plans
  • Helping draft interior architectural details, from millwork and built-ins to door and window casings, baseboards, and ceiling treatments, learning how a beautiful detail is actually built
  • Getting out into the field for site surveys, documenting existing conditions, and helping coordinate installations, the exciting part where it all comes together
  • Sourcing furniture, finishes, and fixtures from our trade vendors while keeping an eye on pricing and lead times
  • Teaming up with our senior and intermediate designers and project managers to keep projects moving and milestones met
  • Joining client meetings and helping with the thoughtful follow-up and documentation that keeps everything on track
  • Keeping our project files, digital libraries, and material resources organized and easy to love

Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Interior Design or a related field
  • 1 to 3 years of interior design experience, ideally with a taste of high-end residential work
  • Confidence in Studio Designer, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Google Workspace
  • Bonus points for SketchUp and 3D rendering skills
  • A sharp eye for detail, scale, and proportion
  • Great communication, time management, and the ability to juggle a few things at once with a smile
  • A positive attitude and real eagerness to learn in a busy, creative studio
  • Curiosity about AI tools and an openness to folding them into your workflow, we love teammates who like to work smart
  • A portfolio that shows us your eye (please upload it with your cover letter, we cannot wait to see it)

Benefits
  • A competitive salary in the $55,000 to $75,000 range, commensurate with experience
  • Health insurance
  • Paid vacation, holidays, and sick leave
  • A front-row seat to elite residential projects across NYC and beyond
  • Mentorship from senior designers who genuinely want to see you grow
  • A collaborative, design-obsessed culture where your ideas are welcome from day one
