Job description

Our Technology Development Program (TECDP) empowers early-career technologists to build meaningful skills while transforming how millions experience healthcare. TECDP is a two-year program designed to build technical expertise and a holistic understanding of how technology fuels transformation across the healthcare industry. Associates join a technical track aligned to their interests and career goals, gaining hands-on experience, expanding their technical acumen, and collaborating across disciplines to solve real-world challenges in healthcare.
The Data & Analytics Engineering Track is designed for individuals passionate about building scalable data solutions, enabling analytics, and turning data into insights that drive better healthcare outcomes.
What you'll do
  • Meaningful Work: Contribute to the Data & Analytics Engineering track by helping design, build, and optimize data pipelines, platforms, and analytical tools. You'll gain hands-on experience turning raw data into insights that support data-driven decisions across The Cigna Group.
  • Learn by Collaborating: Work closely with peers, mentors, and cross-functional partners through team initiatives and community activities. You'll learn through collaboration while supporting innovation, recruiting efforts, onboarding, and community engagement.

Qualifications
  • Candidates must have participated in and completed a Cigna Group internship prior to applying for this position.
  • Education: Must have completed a bachelor's or master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field at the time of hire.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Understanding of data modeling, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and data warehousing concepts
    • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala
    • Experience with SQL for database querying and management
    • Familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra)
    • Exposure to big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark) or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus

Additional Information
  • Location: This position is based in one of the following office locations: Bloomfield, CT | Morris Plains, NJ | St. Louis, MO. The role requires a hybrid work schedule, with a minimum of three days per week working onsite (Tuesday, Wednesday, and one additional day of the employee's choice), and the option to work the remaining days remotely. Relocation assistance is not offered, and employees must be able to meet the onsite schedule for their assigned office location.
  • Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday starting February 15, 2027, or July 12, 2027.
  • Work Authorization: One goal of this leadership development program is to prepare and identify qualified candidates for leadership roles with The Cigna Group upon program completion. Therefore, this position is open only to individuals who are eligible for employment in the United States and who do not now, or in the future, require visa sponsorship including, but not limited to, H-1B, CPT/OPT/STEM.
  • Timeline: Process includes a recruiter screen and up to two interviews. Application window closes by mid-October 2026 or once filled.
  • Compensation: Expected base salary is $88,000 for bachelor's graduates and $100,000 for master's graduates, plus competitive benefits.
  • Pre-Employment Requirements: Selected candidates will be required to complete mandatory pre-employment tasks approximately 45 days prior to the program start date. Completion of the drug test requires availability within the United States during this timeframe.

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 72,400 - 120,600 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
