Savannah Country Club is home to a Donald Ross-designed championship golf course. The 6,715-yard, 18-hole, par 71 course boasts picturesque fairways, strategically placed bunkers, and exceptional playing conditions that provide an enjoyable yet challenging experience for our members and guests. In addition to golf, we offer tennis, pickleball, a swimming pool, dining, and a vibrant social calendar.
We are seeking a hardworking, dependable, and detail-oriented individual to join our Golf Course Maintenance team. This position plays a vital role in maintaining the beauty and playability of our championship golf course while helping provide an exceptional experience for our members every day.
Job Summary
Join the Golf Course Maintenance team at Savannah Country Club as a Groundskeeper. In this role, you will assist in the daily maintenance and upkeep of the golf course, practice facilities, and surrounding grounds. Responsibilities include mowing, trimming, bunker maintenance, course setup, irrigation, and general landscaping. This position requires working outdoors in various weather conditions and taking pride in maintaining one of the premier private clubs in the region.
Job Tasks/Duties
  • Mow greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and other turf areas using specialized equipment.
  • Rake and maintain bunkers to ensure consistent playing conditions.
  • Set up the golf course daily by changing hole locations, moving tee markers, and placing course accessories.
  • Operate string trimmers, backpack blowers, utility vehicles, and other landscaping equipment.
  • Water turf and landscape areas as directed and assist with irrigation repairs and maintenance.
  • Plant, prune, mulch, and maintain trees, shrubs, flowers, and landscape beds throughout the property.
  • Repair divots, fill ball marks, and maintain high-quality playing surfaces.
  • Assist with fertilizer, topdressing, aerification, overseeding, and other turf management practices.
  • Remove debris, leaves, and fallen limbs from the golf course and club grounds.
  • Inspect equipment daily and report maintenance or safety concerns immediately.
  • Follow all safety procedures and properly use personal protective equipment.
  • Assist with special projects and tournament preparation as needed.
  • Perform opening and closing duties as assigned.
  • Work a variety of shifts including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Comply with all Club policies and procedures.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.
Requirements, Physical Demands, and Work Environment
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous landscaping, golf course maintenance, or groundskeeping experience is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to safely operate maintenance equipment and power tools.
  • Valid driver's license preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, lifting, walking, and standing for extended periods.
  • Must be willing to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required.
