The Clinical Social Worker I is a licensed, experienced professional who is the clinical expert in the assessment and treatment of pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients and their families in a variety of inpatient and ambulatory settings in the Yale New Haven Health System. As the clinical expert, the scope of practice includes, but is not limited to, diagnostic assessment, counseling, psychotherapy, brief treatment, crisis intervention, mental health consultation, teaching/mentoring, and/or other project/task force participation as assigned by supervisor. The clinical social worker will work collaboratively with members of the health care teams throughout the organization.

Responsibilities
  • 1. Licensed Social Work Clinical Practice
    • 1.1 Interact professionally and with persons of all ages and from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, educational, racial and ethnic backgrounds, sexual orientations, lifestyles, and physical abilities.
  • 2. Professional Development
    • 2.1 Maintain and enhance knowledge of the Neonatal, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric populations through educational opportunities and meet expectations set forth by State licensure, Hospital and departmental standards.

Qualifications
EDUCATION
Master's Degree from an accredited school of social work.
EXPERIENCE
Consistent with LICSW licensure requirements.
LICENSURE
Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) from the State of Rhode Island, or those holding licenses from other states, will need an "endorsement" and meet the State of Rhode Island license requirements.
SPECIAL SKILLS
Ability to perform independently and provide clinical social work practice in a health care setting. Computer experience and knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and data entry systems.
