Job description

About Pangram Labs
Pangram Labs builds state-of-the-art AI detection software. Our models identify AI-generated text and images, and we bring that capability to our users through our web app, browser extensions, platform integrations, and API. Pangram serves teachers and universities, publishers, newsrooms, hiring teams, and enterprises.
We are a small team based in person in Brooklyn, New York.
The Role
We are looking for mid-level and senior Full-Stack and Product Engineers with great product sense and programming skills. Full-stack engineers at Pangram own the product lifecycle from end-to-end: assisting designers and PMs in understanding our users, architecting product flows, building clean UIs, microservices, and APIs, and owning instrumentation and observability.
Responsibilities
  • Own and ship product features end-to-end in both consumer and B2B verticals.
  • Work closely with GTM, Product, and Research functions to bring Pangram's machine learning technology to polished user experiences
  • Turn design specs and prototypes into shippable, working products
  • Review code and raise the quality bar for code across the company

Requirements
  • At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience
  • Fluency in Python and a modern front-end framework (we use React and Next.js with Typescript)
  • Fluency in relational databases, APIs, and microservices
  • Experience with integrating third-party services
  • Fluency and comfort with AI coding tools and thoughtfulness around their use
  • Based in or willing to relocate to the NYC area to work from our office on a hybrid schedule
  • Comfort across the stack: front-end and back-end, with strength in either and at minimum comfort in the other.
  • A strong sense of taste and craftsmanship, bias towards action, and clear communication skills

Nice to have
  • Experience with browser extensions
  • Experience with mobile apps
  • Working experience at an early stage startup
  • Interest in AI, machine learning, and LLMs; including AI safety and responsible AI
