To thrive as an Entry Level Full Stack Developer, you need proficiency in both front-end (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and back-end (e.g., Node.js, Python, or Java) technologies, supported by a relevant degree or coding bootcamp experience. Familiarity with databases (SQL/NoSQL), version control systems like Git, and frameworks such as React or Express is typically required. These skills and tools are vital for building, maintaining, and improving dynamic web applications in fast-paced development environments.

What are some common challenges Entry Level Full Stack Developers face when transitioning from academic projects to real-world applications?

Entry Level Full Stack Developers often find that real-world projects are more complex and less structured than academic assignments. They may encounter challenges such as working with legacy code, collaborating across multidisciplinary teams, and managing competing priorities within agile development cycles. Additionally, adapting to company-specific workflows, version control practices, and deployment processes can be initially overwhelming. However, these experiences provide valuable learning opportunities and quickly build practical, in-demand skills.

Job description

Job Title: Full Stack Developer
Status: Full-time, On-site
Department: Technology
Reports to: Director of Engineering
About the Role
We're seeking full stack engineers to expand our platform's API and service capabilities. You'll design, implement, and support high-performance, maintainable code that integrates cleanly across multiple modules and external systems. This role is hands-on: building production-grade code, reviewing pull requests, and helping shape our architectural standards. You'll work closely with DevOps, QA, and UI teams to ensure seamless delivery. This is an ONSITE role in Phoenix with genuine flexibility. Core collaboration hours are 10 AM-3 PM - manage your schedule around that. We don't track hours or micromanage - we hire professionals and treat them accordingly. You'll work with experienced engineers who value clean design, accountability, and getting things done right.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship available)
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain RESTful APIs and background services in C#/.NET.
  • Implement integrations with internal systems and external financial APIs.
  • Optimize data access and storage using Entity Framework, SQL Server, and efficient query design.
  • Follow and enforce clean architecture and code quality standards.
  • Profile, tune, and refactor slow endpoints and database queries.
  • Collaborate with QA and UAT teams to ensure production reliability.
  • Participate in design sessions, code reviews, and sprint ceremonies.
  • Communicate clearly across disciplines - UI, QA, DevOps, and Product.
  • Contribute to team documentation and shared coding practices.
What You Bring
  • 2-4 years professional experience in C# and .NET Core/.NET Framework.
  • Strong understanding of RESTful API design and microservice patterns.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
  • Familiarity with Azure services (App Service, Key Vault, Service Bus, Functions).
  • Experience integrating with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps preferred).
  • TypeScript Framework experience
  • Strong debugging, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to balance shipping features with maintaining system stability.
What We Value
  • Problem solvers who propose solutions, not just identify issues.
  • Self-awareness to spot gaps in your own work and communicate them.
  • Professionals who meet realistic deadlines without hand-holding.
What We Offer
  • 100% Employer Paid Medical for Employee AND Whole Family Includes the Mayo Clinic
  • 401k/Roth Plan 4% Match with Immediate Vesting
  • Dental Insurance
  • Vision Insurance
  • Company Paid Term Life Insurance
  • Company Paid Short-and Long-Term Disability Insurance
  • Voluntary Pet Discount Plan
  • Fully Subsidized LifeTime Gym Membership*
  • Student Loan Repayment
  • Tuition Reimbursement
  • Catered Friday Lunches
  • Stocked Kitchens
  • Opportunity to Work at a Fast-Growing Company
  • Patent credit
  • And More

Work Environment
This is a primarily onsite role with genuine flexibility. Core collaboration hours are 10 AM - 3 PM; manage your full schedule around that. Need a morning at home for an appointment? Handle it. We don't track hours or micromanage - we hire professionals and treat them accordingly. We encourage experimentation, learning from mistakes, and continuous improvement across teams.
