Job Overview
As an Engineering Technician I, you will support the build, integration, and validation of ruggedized hardware platforms by performing hands-on assembly, testing, and troubleshooting activities under guidance. You will work closely with engineers and experienced technicians to assist with early builds, test setup, data collection, and issue identification that help ensure quality and reliability are built into hardware from the start.
This role offers hands-on exposure to real-world hardware development in a collaborative, cross-disciplinary environment. It is well suited for individuals who are detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and motivated to learn how disciplined build and validation practices contribute directly to reliable, field-ready mining technology solutions.
Key Job Responsibilities
  • Performs hands-on assembly, wiring, and mechanical or electrical build activities for hardware components and subsystems.
  • Executes test procedures and validation activities under guidance to verify hardware functionality and performance.
  • Identifies, documents, and communicates build, test, or integration issues early in the development lifecycle.
  • Assists with test setup, instrumentation, data collection, and basic troubleshooting in laboratory environments.
  • Maintains accurate build records, test results, and technical documentation.
  • Collaborates closely with engineers and other technicians to support early integration, validation, and issue resolution.
  • Applies structured work practices and safety procedures during all hands-on activities.

Required Skills
  • Associate degree or technical degree in Electronics, Electromechanics, Mechatronics, Industrial Technology, or a closely related technical field, or equivalent hands-on technical experience.
  • 0-3 years of relevant hands-on technical experience, including academic labs, internships, apprenticeships, or entry-level technician roles.
  • Foundational understanding of basic electrical, mechanical, or electromechanical systems.
  • Ability to follow procedures, learn new tools and equipment, and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Up to ~10% travel, including laboratory work, prototype builds, integration support, or limited field exposure.

Desired Skills
  • Hands-on experience with hardware assembly, wiring, or mechanical builds.
  • Familiarity with basic test equipment and laboratory tools.
  • Experience supporting early prototype builds or validation activities.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
  • Interest in full product lifecycle development and building quality into hardware early.
