Entry level florists are individuals who are new to the floral industry and typically assist with basic tasks such as arranging flowers, preparing bouquets, maintaining shop cleanliness, and providing customer service. They often work under the supervision of more experienced florists while learning about different flowers, design techniques, and care methods. This position is a great starting point for those interested in pursuing a career in floral design, as it provides hands-on experience and opportunities for advancement within the field.

What are some typical daily tasks for an entry level florist and how much creative input can I expect to have?

As an entry level florist, your daily tasks will often include preparing and conditioning flowers, assembling basic arrangements, maintaining shop displays, and assisting with customer service. While much of your initial work will follow established designs and instructions from senior florists, you may gradually take on more creative responsibilities as you gain experience and demonstrate skill. Collaboration is common, especially during busy periods or large event preparations, and your input will increase as you build trust and familiarity within the team. Over time, you can expect opportunities to contribute ideas and develop your own style.
