Entry Level Flood Restoration information

What does a typical day look like for someone in an entry-level flood restoration role?

In an entry-level flood restoration position, your day often starts with a briefing about the job sites you'll visit. You'll assist with water extraction, set up drying equipment, clean and sanitize affected areas, and help move or inventory damaged items. Working closely with experienced technicians, you'll learn industry best practices and safety procedures. Communication with team members is key, as is flexibility—since emergency calls can change your schedule. This hands-on experience provides a solid foundation for advancement within the restoration industry.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Entry Level Flood Restoration Technician, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Entry Level Flood Restoration Technician, you need a basic understanding of water removal, cleaning procedures, and safety protocols, often with a high school diploma or GED. Familiarity with tools like water extraction machines, dehumidifiers, and industry certifications such as IICRC Water Restoration Technician (WRT) are commonly required. Strong attention to detail, physical stamina, teamwork, and effective communication are important soft skills for this role. These skills ensure efficient property restoration, safety, and customer satisfaction during often stressful situations.
